e-Governance Initiatives > UMANG > Upcoming mobile application from Government of India for all government services

The Government of India is working on an app called Umang (Unified Mobile App for New Age Governance) which will enable access to ~1000 govt services across central, state, and local governance bodies.

This app is planned to be launched in Dec 2016.

The Government is also starting an 'educational' rally of sorts in the rural /semi urban areas using digital vans to reach out to more than 10 lakh citizens and register over 1.5 lakh rural citizens for MyGov, digital locker, Aadhaar and other digital services.

E-governance is already very well developed in other countries such as South Korea, USA, and a couple of European countries, and India is all set to improve its ranking in this regard.

All initiatives of GOI in e-Governance can be seen here and here. News on App can be found here.
